  While there are many aspects of Cottams Alpine Village that are excellent, well appointed luxury suites, central location 3 minutes to the lift, a fabulous hot tub with lovely murals and a full service ski shop with equipment rentals.  All these things are great but my personal favorite thing about Cottams Alpine Village is the Cottams. John Brook and Barbara Cottam are the driving force behind the business. They built the first phase of Alpine Village Suites in 1996. I should know I was there with my 4x5 camera capturing the first exterior with snow. It kept snowing that winter and it looked better with each snowfall, I bet I shot it after 4 different storms.  Any of the staff at the hotel or in the ski shop, some who have been there since it opened, will tell you John Brook and Babara work as hard or harder than anyone there. That commitment shows in the level of service and the quality of the experience at both the hotel and ski shop. The rooms are very nice, great decorations, cozy fireplaces and great beds. Some of the suites have kitchettes, there are lofts with beds perfect for the family. Massage is available, restuarants close by, it's a great place. Plus Alpine Village Suites is a Pet friendly Hotel.

Alpine Village Suites is an exceptional location both in the winter and summer. Skiing and snowboarding in the winter, horseback riding, flyfishing, mountain biking, hiking in the summer. The Suites are a great place for groups to get away, the perfect wedding location or family reunion. Taos Ski Valley's most charming accomodations!
